Chinese standard I-beam, the 20#

The 20# I-beam (200 mm height, 100 mm flange, about 24.4–31.1 kg/m depending on a/b variant) is the most common GB section for sheds, racking, mezzanines and general structures. Supplied in Q235B, 6 m and 12 m lengths.

20a vs 20b — know the difference

GB I-beams come in a and b variants: same height, different flange and web thickness, different weight per meter. If your BOM just says "20# I-beam", confirm a or b with your designer — the weight difference is about 25% and affects both price and structural capacity.
