China's standard high-strength plate

Q345B (GB/T 1591) is the Chinese equivalent of the S355 family and is widely specified in equipment fabricated in China: trailers, gantries, mining machinery and steel structures. If your Chinese supplier fabricates to Q345B but your design code references S355, we can confirm equivalence and supply either grade.

Substitution guidance

Q345B and S355JR overlap in strength but differ in impact test requirements and chemical ranges. Most projects accept the substitution with a note; some European specs do not. Send us the design reference and we will tell you plainly whether Q345B can be substituted or you should insist on S355JR.
